Comicpalooza returns to the George R. Brown Convention Center May 22–24, 2026, bringing three days of comics, gaming, cosplay, panels, celebrity guests, and pop culture fandom to downtown Houston. Whether you're a veteran con-goer or this is your first time, here's how to make the most of the weekend from The District at Hogg Palace.
15 Minutes from the Convention Center
The George R. Brown Convention Center is a 15-minute walk from our hotel through downtown Houston. The walk takes you past Toyota Center and Discovery Green — both worth a stop on the way. No parking fees, no rideshare surge pricing, no fighting for a spot in the convention center garage. Walk there, walk back, repeat for three days.
Suites Built for Convention Weekends
If you've ever tried to manage a convention weekend from a 300 sq ft hotel room, you know the struggle: costumes draped over every surface, merch piled on the desk, no room to move. Our suites start at 700 sq ft and go up to 1,600 sq ft. That's real space — a full living area to spread out your haul, a dining table for group meal planning, and a separate bedroom so you can actually sleep.
Traveling with a cosplay group? Our Two Bedroom Suite (1,600 sq ft) sleeps six with a king bed, queen bed, and sleeper sofa. That's one booking instead of three hotel rooms.
Full Kitchen = Convention Fuel
Convention food is expensive and the lines are long. Every suite has a full kitchen — refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cookware. Stock up at a nearby grocery store, cook breakfast before the doors open, pack snacks for the floor, and make a real dinner when you get back. Your wallet and your energy levels will thank you.
In-Unit Washer/Dryer
Three days of a convention in Houston heat means laundry. Cosplay means even more laundry. Every suite has its own washer and dryer — throw in a load when you get back, and your gear is fresh for the next day. No shared laundry room, no quarters needed.
After Hours
When the convention floor closes, the fun doesn't stop. Market Square Park is across the street from our hotel with restaurants and bars. The Theater District surrounds us. And our suites have 55" Roku smart TVs — log into your streaming accounts and decompress after a long day on the floor.
